– About Me –
My name is Lucy Morris and I live in Ramsbottom near Bury, in the heart of Lancashire. I have always loved animals from being little and I knew I wanted a career in looking after animals. I worked hard at college and gained a Triple Distinction Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management. As part of this course I studied and carried out the health and husbandry of domestic and exotic mammals. This ranged from farm animals to primates and tapirs. I have the knowledge, passion and ability to give the best possible care for your pets.
Later I spent time doing work experience and volunteering with the Bolton RSPCA branch and Bonham Veterinary Practice where I furthered my knowledge with specifically cats and dogs, Regularly visiting Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary to exercise the dogs and did months of work experience at Greenmount Wild Bird Hospital, where I found my love for our local wildlife and learned to health check and administer appropriate treatment and medication.
I also spent years riding and caring for horses, did three years in a livery and riding school yard – my work there included being in charge of a yard containing 16 horses, while also teaching basic riding skills.
At home, I have four beautiful house rabbits called Lando, Padmé, Leia and Rey. We also have a Lhasa Apso called Mabel who loves seeing her doggie friends everyday. I am especially passionate about Rabbits, they are the third most popular pet in the UK next to cats and dogs, and yet they are the most neglected. I enjoy helping anyone who wants to learn about appropriate housing, their dietary needs, enrichment ideas, grooming and the importance of neutering and vaccinating them.
I hope this has helped you get to know me better and always happy for a chat with anyone regarding any of my services.
